Cooking is the common practice of using heat to prepare foods into a meal. Heating methods vary and can include ovens, grills, stovetops, fire pits, fireplaces, and microwaves. Cooking generally is most necessary when using meat, eggs, or grains. Uncooked meats and eggs can be dangerous, often containing parasites and harmful bacteria. It has become an expectation to be served warm food, regardless of what the contents are. Some examples of all-inclusive dishes include soups, pies, stews, and casseroles.
